A New Voice for Epsom
At just 19, Joshua Shapiro Jr already knows how to build something from the ground up — and get things done.
Joshua cofounded Shapiro Bathrooms with his father in 2022, spending the last few years handling marketing and customer relations. He knows how to work with people, solve problems, and deliver results.
Outside of work, Joshua has served on mission trips both here in the United States and overseas — working alongside the homeless, troubled youth, and single parents. The common thread in that work is simple: helping people get their dignity back when life has taken it from them.
That's what he wants to bring to Concord. Joshua is running for the New Hampshire House to represent all the people of Epsom — not just the ones who agree with him. Young and old. Liberal and conservative. His goal is to listen as much as he leads, and to be a voice for people who feel like nobody is paying attention.
New Hampshire deserves better than politics as usual. Joshua believes the way forward is working together rather than drawing lines.
What Josh Is Fighting For
Clear priorities, real solutions, and a relentless focus on putting New Hampshire first.
Property Taxes
Joshua will push to expand the state's Low and Moderate Income Homeowners Property Tax Relief program and increase its funding so more Epsom families actually qualify for relief. He will work to shift more education funding to the state level to reduce the burden on local property taxpayers — keeping New Hampshire free of an income or sales tax while making the system fairer. He will oppose any unfunded mandates from Concord that force towns like Epsom to raise their tax rates.
Quality of Education
For too long, education has focused on quantity of teachers rather than quality. Education is an investment into the future of our nation — a quality investment in our children's lives lets us reap positive benefits down the road. Josh also believes in fiscal responsibility and transparency: budgets must exist and be kept. As taxpaying citizens, we have the right to know where the money goes and how it's allocated. Funded and budgeted correctly, we'll see higher student achievement.
Cost of Living
Joshua will fight to reduce the crushing property tax burden that forces Epsom families to choose between keeping their homes and paying their bills. He will oppose any attempt to introduce a sales or income tax in Concord, protecting the foundation that makes New Hampshire different from every state around us. And he will push to cut wasteful state spending so towns like Epsom can lower what they demand from local taxpayers.
Right to Try
Joshua will work to strengthen New Hampshire's Right to Try law by closing loopholes that allow insurance companies and hospital systems to block terminally ill Granite Staters from experimental treatments their doctors recommend. He will push legislation requiring state-licensed providers to document and justify any denial so patients can appeal or seek care elsewhere — and ensure pursuing experimental treatment never disqualifies a patient from state end-of-life support services.
